Data Deletion

How to have your BillMate account, and the business data attached to it, removed.
How To Request Deletion
- Email sahatunir@gmail.com from the address your account is registered with. Sending it from the registered address is how we confirm the request is yours.
- Include your account email and the name of the business (or businesses) to delete, so we remove the right workspace.
- We acknowledge the request within 7 days and complete it within 30 days.
Ready to send it? This opens your mail app with the subject filled in.
Request account deletionIf you only want to leave a business someone else invited you to, ask the owner of that business to remove you from its team - that revokes your access immediately and does not touch their records or your account.
What Gets Deleted
Where deletion is legally and technically possible, we remove:
- your user account, name, email and password hash;
- every active session, so all devices are signed out;
- the businesses you own - profile, GSTIN, PAN, bank and UPI details;
- uploaded logo and signature images;
- your clients, invoices, proforma invoices, payment receipts and saved line items;
- team invitations and memberships for the businesses you own.
Deleting a business you own deletes the documents raised under it, including for team members who had access. If a business has team members who still need the records, transfer ownership or export the data to CSV first - the invoice, proforma invoice and receipt list screens each have an export.
What May Be Kept
- Records we are required to retain under Indian tax or company law, or for an open dispute, legal claim, security or fraud investigation.
- Copies inside routine backups, which are overwritten on the normal backup cycle rather than deleted individually.
- Anonymised, non-identifying operational logs that no longer point back to you.
Nothing retained under the above is used to provide the service back to you.
Before You Ask
Deletion is permanent - documents cannot be restored afterwards, and issued invoice numbers are not reused. Export anything you may need for filing before you send the request.
